"Pelleted Diets"

There is no pelleted diet at this time that can be fed to sugar gliders. Feeding these diets will result in unhealthy animals.

"Proven" Supplementation

Because there is no definitive research on sugar glider vitamin/mineral supplementation, there is very little known about which supplementation is best. To put it bluntly, there is no real "proven" supplement anywhere for captive gliders. However, the supplementation used by the Australian sanctuaries have been used for around fifty years with 0% diet-related illness/death rate, and 0% joey rejection rate. The Pet Glider Complete multivitamin has had the same diet-related illness/death and joey rejection rates (0%) for three years and over 1,000 sugar gliders.

It is best when considering supplementation options to give sugar gliders a well-balanced mammalian complete multivitamin. Currently, the vitamin/mineral supplements in this category would be:

The Pet Gilder Complete Multivitamin, which contains a well-balanced complete mammal multivitamin, probiotics, plant matter, bee pollen, acacia powder, and immune boosting herbs.

Ensure or Sustagen, which is a mammalian nutritional supplement, often used in rehabilitation only.

True Modified Leadbeater's (as used in Moonlit Sanctuary)

Glider Boost + Glider-Cal, which has been developed especially for sugar gliders.

Vionate (a small mammal multivitamin, usually found in pet stores), plus calcium in a nectar form, 1 tablespoon of the following mix per 2 gliders: 4 ounces unsweetened juice plus 1/8 teaspoon Vionate plus 1/4 teaspoon calcium. DO NOT FREEZE!

REMEMBER!!! The most important thing to keep in mind is that all the sugar glider captive diet variations are basically the same--protein source/fruits/vegetables. The only major difference is in the vitamin supplement used.
